Scope
FPrimeC Solutions was engaged by Client to perform Half-Cell Corrosion Potential Mapping of parking garage in Northern Secondary School at 851 Mt Pleasant Rd., Toronto, ON. The client was interested to evaluate the current condition of concrete slab and the likelihood of active corrosion.
Half-Cell Corrosion Potential Mapping
The concrete roof was a waffle slab system, with relatively small concrete cover. Sign of corrosion and delamination was observed in several areas on the lower section of the beams, and the bottom of the slab. The concrete slab was in poor condition on or around the construction joint area. Half-Cell Corrosion Potential Mapping and Hammer Sounding was used to assess the corrosion activity in the roof. Corrosion Potential Maps were developed to assist client with repair and maintenance.
