Position: Field Structural Engineer – Concrete & Infrastructure Assessment

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario (Head Office)

FPrimeC Solutions is a growing Canadian engineering firm specializing in advanced structural condition assessment, non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT/E), and performance-based engineering of concrete infrastructure. Our work supports critical assets across mining, oil & gas, and industrial facilities in Canada and internationally.

We are seeking a motivated structural engineering professional with a strong interest in concrete materials, durability, and structural performance to join our multidisciplinary team at our Richmond Hill office.

This role offers a unique blend of field exposure, engineering analysis, and technical reporting, with opportunities to work on complex, real-world infrastructure challenges.

What You’ll Do

As a field structural engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and technical specialists on a wide range of projects, including:

  • Perform structural condition assessments, including visual inspections and application of non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT/E) techniques

  • Collect and interpret site data from concrete and structural systems in industrial environments

  • Prepare clear, high-quality engineering reports and technical documentation

  • Contribute to the design of repair and strengthening systems, such as:

    • CFRP and GFRP strengthening

    • Concrete jacketing and rehabilitation solutions

  • Participate in fieldwork at active industrial and mining sites, with appropriate training and support

What We’re Looking For

We recognize that strong candidates may come from different paths and experiences. You may be a great field structural engineer candidate if you have:

  • A solid understanding of concrete materials, durability, and structural performance

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Canada or are actively working toward licensure

  • Working knowledge of Canadian concrete and structural design standards (CSA A23.1:24/CSA A23.2:24)

  • Interest in applying engineering judgment to real-world asset performance and condition assessment

  • Strong written communication skills for technical reporting

Experience with NDT/E, rehabilitation design, or industrial facilities is an asset, but not required — training and mentorship are provided.

Work Environment & Travel

This role involves a combination of office-based engineering work and field assignments, including:

  • Work in industrial settings (mining, oil & gas, water and wastewater facilities)

  • Travel within Canada, including remote and northern locations, by car, train, or air

  • Fieldwork conducted with appropriate safety training, procedures, and support

Eligibility

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required

  • Ability and willingness to travel as part of project work

  • Valid Drivers License in Ontario

Our Commitment to Inclusion

FPrimeC Solutions is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.

We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen engineering judgment, innovation, and decision-making.
